Vikye

Vikye Swanson is celebrating her 31st Summer with the Sharks! She loves the sport of swimming, has competed on the collegiate level and continues to swim and compete at the masters USMS level. Vikye believes that swimming is a lifelong sport that can be enjoyed by all. Her philosophy on training at the summer club level is that good technique in all four strokes is paramount to success. When not at her beloved Fort with her Sharks, Vikye is a French (and German) teacher at Central Bucks High School East and is the Central Bucks High School West swim coach.
Judy

Judy has coached at the Fort teaching kids to excel in swimming for 29 years. She currently coaches winter swimming at Upper Dublin Aquatic Club (UDAC), having recently come out of winter retirement after a 15 year coaching stint at UDAC. Judy began her coaching career at age 17 with Hideaway, working for 7 years under coach and mentor BJ Howat. She also coached at Centennial Aquatic Club and Abington Aquatic Club before coming to the Fort.
Judy has been a competitive swimmer all her life, starting at the age of 6 at Maple Manor. She also swam for both Upper Dublin Aquatic Club and Upper Dublin High School. Judy is a trailblazer, having competed in the very first girls State Meet at Penn State. Both of Judy’s daughters swam Collegiate Division I programs, and daughter Kelsey swam at the Olympic trials. Her husband Dennis is a PIAA swim official and daughter Melissa also coaches in the Colonial Swim League and at UDAC.
Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn is a lifetime shark who graduated from Upper Dublin High School in 2018. While attending Upper Dublin High School, Kaitlyn was a member of the National Honor Society and swam for the Upper Dublin High School swim team. Kaitlyn was a recipient of the Patrice Ehmann Memorial Shark award in 2016 and received the CJ Martin Scholarship in 2018. In 2016, Kaitlyn began her coaching career as a volunteer coach at Fort. Kaitlyn was instrumental in developing and running the Mini Sharks lesson program. In addition to her Fort coaching, Kaitlyn was a Junior Coach with the Upper Dublin Aquatic Club in 2018. She is now a USA certified assistant swim coach for UDAC. Since 2014, Kaitlyn has provided private swim lessons to anyone wishing to learn and/or improve their swimming abilities. Kaitlyn is currently a Senior at Rosemont College, where she is working towards a dual degree in Early Elementary Education and Special Education.
Deanne

Deanne is excited to start her first season with the Fort Sharks! Some of her fondest childhood memories are associated with summer swim league. She grew up swimming for Harleysville Swim Team in the Bux-Mont League, where she also coached in the late 90s and early 2000s. She had a successful high school career at Souderton Area High School and was an All- American swimmer in several events. She went on to swim at University of Maryland before transferring to Cornell University. She was a national level swimmer in the 100 breaststroke.
Most recently, Deanne spent five seasons coaching high school swimming at Souderton from 2015-2020 where she coached both boys and girls varsity and JV. She enjoys teaching the fundamentals of swimming as well as doing technique refinement.
Deanne currently works as a per diem pharmacist but feels like she’s in her element on the pool deck. She’s happy to be coaching again and that her two children will be on the team!
Tom

Tom Henninger returns as the Head of Sharks Diving for Summer 2021! In addition to the Sharks, Tom has been the Head Diving Coach at his alma mater, Germantown Academy, since 2015. After graduating from GA in 2007, he competed for the University of California, Berkeley where he helped the Bears win the NCAA Division I Team Title in 2011. Tom’s accomplishments include being a Junior Olympic and Senior National Qualifier, PAC 10 Finalist, GA Record Holder, NCAA Qualifier, Inter-Academic League Record Holder. Along with coaching the middle and upper school teams he also founded the Germantown Academy Dive Club which trains and competes year round in the USA Diving and AAU Diving circuits. Prior to GA, Tom has five years of Junior Olympic coaching experience (Centennial Diving) and has spent two summers working with John Wingfield (2008 Olympic Head Diving Coach) along with various Olympic, collegiate, and international coaches at Ripfest Diving Camp in Indiana. Tom is fully certified and safety trained through USA Diving, USA Swimming, American Red Cross, and Amateur Athletic Union.
